Summer Camp 2023

Send a kid to camp . . .
Cost should not be a barrier for kids to access a fun, enriching summer. For the past two summers, we worked with Summer Together and private donors to extend free camp to hundreds of low income kids. Summer Together funding is still at risk for 2023, which would eliminate scholarships for private camps. Please help families who cannot afford camp to send their children for free. $575 pays for a week of full time summer camp including aftercare. Your donation is tax deductible; Renegade Girls is a 501(c)(3).

What campers are saying

"We have tried many different camps in the city, and I can honestly say my daughter likes the Renegade Girls Tinkering camp the best. From the engaging projects to the wonderful teachers, my daughter was very excited about attending everyday. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended." - EK, parent
"Vicky and her group of teachers are awesome! My 6 year old loved their Veterans Day camp, and we'll definitely be booking another one. She came home with a few great inventions and the girls were super welcoming to her." - JL, parent

The Renegade Girls Tinkering Club fiction series

The Renegade Girls Tinkering Club series follows four clever girls as they enter middle school and try to figure out life while tinkering up some fun. The reader can build inventions alongside Wren, Ivy, Amber, and Kammie as they find their path in the chaos of middle school, with the help of a little science and engineering.

The Renegade Spy Project

Wren had hoped middle school would be different, but her mechanical mind and poor impulse control are still getting her into trouble. When her Tinkering club starts a business inventing and selling spy gear, Wren may have finally done something right. But then their gear is used to frame the club for a crime they didn’t commit, Wren must use her troublemaking skills to find the real culprit, or she could lose the only things making middle school survivable.

Amber just wants to be taken seriously. She doesn’t see any reason she can’t love both science and fashion at the same time. When she gets an opportunity to compete for an internship at the hottest fashion boutique in San Francisco, Amber knows she just has to win. She may be up against kids older and more experienced, but she has a secret weapon, the Renegade Girls Tinkering Club, on her side. But when a school assignment shows her the environmental toll her beloved fashion has on her beloved nature, Amber must rethink her priorities. Will she throw away her dreams and stand up for science and nature, or give it all up for fashion?
