1. Start off with a few sheets of printer paper and a sheet of cardstock. Have a small hole punch and some kind of string handy.
2. For kids who are easily frustrated, Stack the printer papers on top of the cardstock. 3. Fold everything in half, folding the pages together, with the cardstock on the outside. The cardstock is now the cover with the printer paper as the pages ready for filling. |
4. Use the hole punch to punch a hole along the crease at the top, and another at the bottom.
5. Thread a shoelace, bit of ribbon, yarn, or twine through the holes from the inside, and tie on the outside. 6. That's it! It's that quick! The question is what will you do with it now? How will you make it your own? To decorate, try crumpling and tea-dyeing the paper for an aged feel, or covering the outside of the cardstock with glue, then pressing tissue paper over it to give it a leather look. Or, just draw a nice picture or write your name. It’s up to you! It's easy to untie the ribbon and reorganize or add pages, but keep in mind that one piece of paper is now 4 pages that don't necessarily come right after each other. If your kid loves to make fun projects with friends and you don't want a table full of marker mess-ups, just bring them to Renegade Tinkering! We'll provide the community and clean up the mess! |
