Our Next Big Adventure!

The Renegades go FICTIONAL!
The Renegade Girls Tinkering Club is excited to announce the next chapter in our quest to foster girls’ love of STEM: The Renegade Girls Tinkering Club fiction books! COVID may have locked us in our rooms, but that doesn’t mean the tinkering has to stop.
Terri Selting David, co-founder, curriculum writer, and chief of content development at Renegades presents the first book in her new series aimed at 8-12 year old girls who love STEM and making things.
The Renegade Girls Tinkering Club series follows four clever girls as they enter middle school and try to figure out their futures while tinkering up some fun. The reader can build inventions alongside Wren, Ivy, Amber, and Kammie in this book about finding your path in the chaos of middle school, with the help of a little science and engineering. As the Renegades invent their way into and out of trouble, the instructions for the inventions are illustrated graphic-novel style in the chapters so readers can build them too, as they learn about amazing women from history, science and engineering concepts, and even get inspired to use STEM processes, such as the Engineering Design Process, to help them solve their own daily challenges.
The first book in the series, The Renegade Spy Project, launches August 13th for ebook and in paperback at select locations. Stay tuned!

COVID-19 Announcement
The safety of our Renegades is our number one priority. In accordance with government guidelines and school closures, all after school programs for Spring 2020 transitioned to distance learning. While kids have truly enjoyed these classes, a longer day online is difficult for children to stay connected with the projects. Because Presidio Knolls has decided that, for the sake of safety, June camps will be via distance learning, and July is also uncertain, we made the difficult decision to cancel our camps at this site. USF cancelled our summer 2020 lease to prioritize the return of their own students to campus.
Welcome to the club...
Build! Explore! Solve! Tinker!
Please support our STEM community during these times of precaution due to COVID-19. While classes are cancelled during the next weeks, we would like to pay our staff that has been furloughed, and to build a fund for our program at Cesar Chavez Elementary School. The Chavez program is entirely donation-based and supports teachers with school day STEM programming.
The Renegade Girls Tinkering Club runs exciting summer camps and after school programs in San Francisco for 5-11 year old children. Our programs bring science, technology, engineering and math concepts through fun hands-on projects. We founded the Renegade Girls Tinkering Club to inspire girls to love tinkering and making! In 2017, we added coed classes to meet the needs of families and help our sons become allies. In 2019, we converted to 501(c)(3) to reach more girls and underrepresented minorities. Come join our renegades!

What campers are saying
"We have tried many different camps in the city, and I can honestly say my daughter likes the Renegade Girls Tinkering camp the best. From the engaging projects to the wonderful teachers, my daughter was very excited about attending everyday. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended." - EK, parent |
"Vicky and her group of teachers are awesome! My 6 year old loved their Veterans Day camp, and we'll definitely be booking another one. She came home with a few great inventions and the girls were super welcoming to her." - JL, parent |
