After School Teacher, Lead and Assistant

Make a difference to elementary aged girls!

We have 1 lead and 1 assistant position open for school holiday camps.

Job Description:
Do you love to teach or tutor science, math, or engineering? Do you like to work with elementary aged children? Do you enjoy engineering projects with kids? We are looking for energetic teachers in our after school program teaching kids how to tinker. Curriculum provided, involves hands-on projects, tailored to the way that girls learn. We believe that mistakes are good because they grow your brain, and we encourage girls to figure out the process for themselves, with us supporting them along the way, without taking over their projects. We are not a cookie-cutter program.

This is a great job for teachers, enrichment teachers and STEM majors looking for part time jobs.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Lead position requires classroom, camp counselor, aftercare or enrichment teaching experience, any work that involves supervising groups of children. Car is a plus to make transportation simpler, but not required.
  • Assistant position requires experience working with children, which could be 1:1 or 1:2. STEM education is a huge plus.
  • Applicants must produce a negative TB test, within 4 years, and pass a LiveScan background check.
  • All teachers are paid over the table with our online payroll company, which requires standard ID proving the right to work in the USA.

Pay commensurate with experience. We pay more than most large camps as we value your experience working with children.

About:

The Renegade Girls Tinkering Club offers fun and community for children to explore the world of tinkering and making. Children get hands-on with their peers to see how things work. Tinkering, a process involving hands-on discovery, and trial and error toward a goal, helps kids develop grit and gives a solid foundation for STEM skills. Founded by mothers in STEM careers working to change the vast gender imbalance in their fields, the Renegade Girls Tinkering Club inspires girls to keep their love of scientific exploration.
